I have a convert. In my beer-ventures, I have converted my father-in-law to a beer guy. In so doing, he has saved me a boatload of local Cleveland Beer (Great Lakes) or vacation beers (Bar Harbor) and in return, I buy him fancy beers when I see him. I went to their upscale grocer and took a gander and chose a favorite of mine, Unibroue’s Terrible. I love Belgian beers and I believe that Canadian Unibroue makes some of the best in America. The beer is dark and tangy. It is a perfect example of a Belgian Dark Strong. The beer is unusual for an American Belgian Dark Strong because of how fresh it tastes. Americans are used to their Belgian beers being oxidized and flat. The Terrible, since it is brewed relatively close, is fresh and sharp. The notes are all balanced. It is incredible. If you have not tried it, do.
