Nick’s Mix Christmas 2009

In general, I love Christmas music. I had a roommate that claimed you could listen to it all yearlong. However, I guess I more classic than that. I love to make the season feel more seasonal. The music can be classic or new (as long as new does not ruin the classic.) I will be crafting a new mix this year. I will let on later.

Angels we have heard on high – Mormon Tabernacle Choir If you really like classical orchestrated music, you have to hear this version. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is one of the top choirs in the country.
O Come All Ye Faithful – Ed Ames – Classic.
Santa’s Beard – The Beach Boys Another bit of Beach Boys magic.
Have I Got a Present for You – Toby Keith – As I said last year, I love this special. There is nothing better than a creative story. It is a parody of the classic specials, a parody of the cheap pop music, a self parody and frankly, perfectly done. There are incredible allusions and cameos. Just watch it.
Little Dealer Boy – Stephen Colbert & Willie Nelson
Can I Interest You in Hannukah? – Stephen Colbert & Jon Stewart
Nutmeg – Stephen Colbert & John Legend
There Are Much Worse Things to Believe In – Stephen Colbert & friends
(What’s So Funny ’bout) Peace, Love and Understanding – Stephen Colbert & friends
Another Christmas Song – Stephen Colbert
Please Be Patient – Feist
You’re a Mean One Mr Grinch – Thurl Ravenscroft –
White Christmas – Bing Crosby Another classic.
O Come, O Come Emmanuel – Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I love this song. There is nothing better. I will go to the non-youth mass at a large church just to hear the overwhelming noise of a huge choir/audience singing this.
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – Bert and Ernie
Feliz Navidad – Jose Feliciano This adorable and innocent song is just beautiful. There is a very innocent love here. I don’t think of gay or straight or anything like that here. There is just an honest friendship. Beautiful version of this song.
Christmas Eve – Sarajevo 12/24 – Trans-Siberian Orchestra An amazing twist on a Classic. War torn Christmas.
A Mad Russian’s Christmas – Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Carol Of The Bells – Robert Shaw Chorale
Blue Christmas – Elvis Presley The Elvis classic.
God Rest you Merry Gentlemen – Manhiem Steamroller Another magic retelling
It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas – Bing Crosby So, remixes, comedy, and crooners. Nice.
Tennessee Christmas – Alabama Southern classics. Their other music is nothing to me. These two, however, amazing and raw.
Christmas In Dixie – Alabama

Enjoy,
